Apostille Services

What is an Apostille?

A customized certificate issued by the Secretary of State is known as an "apostille." Your original document is given an apostille to confirm that it is valid and authentic so that it will be recognized by one of the other nations that are signatories to the Hague Apostille Convention. The Apostille Convention enables the streamlined certification of public documents—including those notarized—for use by parties to the convention. Several officials in the authority in which the paper has been executed shall certify any documents intended for use in the participating nations and their territories.

An Apostille stamp makes a document acceptable for use in any nation signatory to the Hague Convention.

Process

  • Whenever necessary, certification from a UK solicitor (a Notary Public is not needed)
  • The UK Foreign & Commonwealth Office legalizes apostille papers (or by the Department of Foreign Affairs, for Irish Documents)
